"The patient dog," they say, "eats the fattiest of bones"
But my question remains, what happened to the fleshy meats?
"To err," they say, "is human."
But to be human, I say, is not to err.
"Two heads," they say, "is better than one"
My question is, what if the two heads are together bad?
Sure we live to die another day
But we do not die to live another day
"Good things," they say, "come to those who wait"
But my question is, what happened to better things?
Health is wealth
But wealth is not health
On and on we can go
Exposing the frailty of ancient sayings
But even more and more
They are just what they are
